Enjoy.

Making sense

If a 4-year old calls a dryer a dryer, what does he call a washing machine? A “Wetter” of course.

The Boys’ New Obsession

So for Christmas we got Joshua a 4-pack of computer games called “Fun for Boys.” Inside, was a game called Hot Wheels Velocity X. Let’s just say this game has taken over our lives. We now collect cars and play with cars and talk cars and battle with cars and cars, and cars, and cars cars cars cars. Joshua constantly asks if he can play Hot Wheels (the game). He’s really good at it. I think he’d play it all day if we let him. It’s become a good reward tool. Here’s a picture of them with a big set-up in the living room to mimic one of the cities in the game.

Merry Christmas

Instead of sending out Christmas cards this year (which probably just end up getting thrown away), we’ve put our holiday greetings online.

View the Familyvance Christmas Video and vote in our Christmas card poll. Happy Holidays.

Poems

We’ve been reading children’s poems lately, and the boys really love them. They’ve been wanting to write their own, and here are two poems, one from each boy. They really like Jack Prelutsky and a collection of poems by various poets titled “For Laughing Out Loud.”Stars

by Elijah Vance, age 5.75

Stars are bright
They bring us light.
Same with the sun and moon
Because the moon reflects the sun
That makes the moon have light you see.
Perfectly.

Elmo
by Joshua Vance, age almost 4

Elmo has a tiny voice.
Elmo has a squeaky voice.
Elmo is cuter than the stars.
